Accomplishments & Awards

IEEE:

  • As Chair (2008-09), Ramakrishna strategically transformed Bangalore section as one of the most vibrant sections in IEEE. His volunteer services to IEEE India Council, Bangalore Section and PES Chapters were focused on providing opportunities / encouragement for members to recognize and advance technical/professional leadership skills. He was elected as IEEE R10 Director (2015-16) and contributed to sustainable membership growth through large diversity of services offered to region members.

Accomplishments:

Some major accomplishments that Ramakrishna brought to IEEE include:

  • Sphere-headed Smart City Workshops for member development to bring together members, non-members, industry, research & academia together with policy makers, regulators and government agencies to discuss the challenges and opportunities for all stake holders on local emerging needs and technologies. Successfully organised many smart city workshops (2019-21) across India and the first global Smart City workshop in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

  • Sustained Membership growth across R10, being the best in IEEE Regions is an example of R10 Volunteer leadership efforts. Introduced Member Benefits in Region (India) like Member Medical Insurance, Membership Dues Payment in local Currency, Discounted entry to IEEE members for Night Safari at Singapore, Visvesvaraya Technological Museum at Bangalore and Birla Museum at Hyderabad. As R10 Director, Ramakrishna lead the mentoring meetings with volunteer leadership of many sections and councils in R10 including, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Macau, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, India , Australia and China Councils to build member activities membership across Region10.

  • 2020 IEEE India Council Life-Time Achievement Award was received by Ramakrishna for his exemplary services rendered to IEEE Bangalore Section, India Council and Region10
